Diagnosed late in life with Aspergers, Hillen has reached a point in his career where he finds it almost impossible to work.

Trapped in a tiny terraced house, full to the brim with junk, unfinished art and boxes of memories In the film, Sean embarks on a journey to declutter and make sense of his life as he waits the arrival of his beloved Amy – an American woman with whom he communicates daily but has never met.

Our documentary showcase some of Sean’s amazing artwork and we thought it would be great to show you some of our favourite artwork from Sean’s collection.

Our Number 3

‘Trouble in Paradise.’

This eerie montage is one of Sean’s only collages using the frightening photos of the IRA taken from the press stand of the ‘colour party’ at one of the Hunger Striker’s funeral. Sean then boldly juxtapostioned the IRA against the figures of the redcoats and HM the Queen. Sean has often joked about re-titling this collage as ‘Spot the Terrorists’.

We feel drawn to this particular collage because of its raw honesty and perfect depiction of the cruel happenings during the Troubles.

Our Number 2

‘The Great Pyramids of Carlingford Lough’

This unique collage is included in Hillens ‘Irelantis’ collection, in which he used the photos from John Hinds famous postcards. This exact collage was the Album cover for The Super Furry Animals album ‘(Drawing) Rings around the World’.
This collage is a brilliant dichotomy of traditional Ireland and its impact on the wider world. The rolling hills and meandering river creates a great aesthetic.

Our Top Pick – Number 1

‘The Great Falls of Custom House’

This famous collage incorporated one of Dublin’s finest buildings the Palladian-style Custom house and historic thundering waterfalls. This elegant collage subtly conveys the wild and uncontrollable element of Ireland. The regal custom house building was built during British rule as it stands above a magnificent waterfall symbolising the famous fight and strength of the Irish.

Let us know which of Sean’s images you like the best and be sure to check back for updates on future screenings of Tomorrow Is Saturday as it continues its festival run.

Our Latest Feature Documentary ‘Tomorrow Is Saturday’ has recently been selected at he prestigious Galway Film Fleadh.
